Queen of the ruins

                                             – Ienla

The walls crumble,

They quake and they fall.

Hope that kept me afloat

Fled, at the sign of a crack.

Queen of the rubbles; aye, that’s me,

Queen of the ruined castle

Amidst my wreck

I rule majestic still,

The world see me

Smile and dance, unknown, that it is

Upon the remnants of my ruined realm,

While deep inside,

I scream aloud silently in pain

Within the hearts resounding walls

As I stagger again

To rebuild my world, brick by brick.

Shelter

    : Ienla

Though the thread be worn,

Shelter me neath your love’s tent.

When the storms brew,

Hold me close to your bosom

And when the sun blazes,

Let me find shade

Within the fold of your love –

That’s the place where I always want

To be anchored.

Bluebird

: Ienla

Bluebird on the treetop,

Come, fly down to me

Perch on my shoulders,

Don’t hop away.

Bluebird on the treetop,

Come, fly down to me

Sing me your happy tune,

Don’t leave my side.

Bluebird on the treetop,

Come, fly down to me

Beneath the sunny blue skies,

Teach me your happy strain.

Bluebird on the treetop,

Come, fly down to me

Perch on my Shoulders,

Stay by my side.

Bluebird on the treetop,

Won’t you fly down to me?

Perch on my shoulders

And let’s sing, you and I.

Mother

: ienla

Under the summer noon’s harsh light,

A mother cradles her child to feed

Holds him to suckle at her breast

To soothe, the whimpering cries.

A small bundle yet, it is the world;

Dear than her life.

The world unseeingly pass by

She gazes on and in

The limpid pool of her eyes

Her hopes and fears reflect.

In an instant gone,

Overcome, by a mother’s love.

Empty spaces

                                                                                       : Ienla

Empty room, empty spaces;

Cold and empty- the heart!

Your presence is now an illusion.

Once you were there,

Filled the sacred space with love? I wonder.

Every word of yours dripped honey,

Believable.

The emptiness echoes

Of past memories

And half forgot melodies.

Reminds me of legends,

One hears and remains unforgotten.

Your silhouette that falls,

An extension of my memory,

Springing from the hollows

Of empty spaces left behind.

Empty room, empty spaces;

Cold and empty- the heart!
